Since the ink replacement procedure is performed through the “Tools> Maintenance> Empty and clean the System” menu option, it is not available for VJ1240 models.
Strictly speaking, the ink of different solvent bases can not be replaced. If forced replacement, it will lead to the blockage of ink lines and affect the operation stability of the code jet printer. In all Simplicity supported ink models, according to the replacement requirements between different inks:

It should be noted that the same two inks, due to the different order of replacement, shows that the compatibility is also different!
In the first case, the compatible ink replacement process is as follows:
- 1. Make sure that the ink line is closed.
- 2. Enter the advanced password.
- 3. Enter the menu tool-> Maintenance-> Empty and clean the system.
- 4. Perform the emptying procedure (only empty the mixed cylinder, no cleaning).
- 5. After completion, insert the new solvent into the solvent trough.
- 6. Go to the menu “Tools> Maintenance> Clearing and Cleaning the System” (this step is designed to clean the line and empty the old solvent) and run it twice.
- 7. If the start button is not shown in green, please update the ink parameters by following the prompts in “Failure Handling-Consumable Information Loss”.
- 8. Fill the mixed cylinder with lead ink according to the installation guide. Once completed, the code injection printer ink conversion is completed.

In the second case, the compatible ink replacement process only at low concentrations is as follows:
- 1. Make sure that the ink line is closed.
- 2. Enter the advanced password.
- 3. Enter the menu “Tools> Maintenance> Empty and Clean System”.
- 4. Perform the emptying cleaning procedure (emptying and cleaning mixing cylinder).
- 5. After completion, insert the new solvent into the solvent trough.
- 6. Go to the menu “Tools> Maintenance> Clearing and Cleaning the System” (this step is designed to clean the line and empty the old solvent) and run it twice.
- 7. Turn off the JET machine.
- 8. Replace service module 1 (or service module in 1280) and open the code printer.
- 9. Enter the advanced password.
- 10. Follow the installation guide to lead the mixing tank. Once completed, the printer ink conversion is completed.

In the third case, the incompatible ink replacement process is as follows:
- 1. Make sure that the ink line is closed.
- 2. Enter the advanced password.
- 3. Enter the menu “Tools> Maintenance> Empty and Clean System”.
- 4. Perform emptying cleaning procedure (emptying and cleaning mixing cylinder).
- 5. After completion, insert the new solvent into the solvent trough.
- 6. Go to the menu “Tools> Maintenance> Clearing and Cleaning the System” (this step is designed to clean the line and empty the old solvent) and run it twice.
- 7. Turn off the JET machine.
- 8. Replace the hybrid cylinder / ink system, replace the service module 1 and the service module 2 (or the service module in 1280), and the filter.
- 9. Turn on the code injection machine.
- 10. Enter the advanced password.
- 11. Follow the installation guide to lead the mixing cylinder. Once completed, the printer ink conversion is completed

Fault handling—missing consumables information
If the code printer loses the ink information for any reason, the ink information parameters must be updated.
- Select the tool menu.
- Select a diagnosis.
- Select the ink system.
- Select Update.
