How Do CIJ Printers Work?
Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) printers create high-speed, high-quality prints by propelling tiny droplets of ink through a nozzle and steering them onto the material.
Working Principle
- Ink is pumped under pressure to the printhead.
- Vibrations from a piezoelectric crystal break the ink stream into droplets.
- Electrically charged droplets are deflected by electrodes to form characters or graphics.
- Unused droplets are recirculated back into the system.
Advantages of CIJ
- Fast printing on high-speed production lines.
- Prints on a wide variety of substrates: plastic, glass, metal, etc.
- Minimal maintenance with long continuous operation.
